Adenomyosis is a non-cancerous condition of the uterus that can mimic many of the signs and symptoms of fibroids. This condition results from the lining cells of the uterus growing directly into the muscle wall of the uterus. At the time of the menstrual period, these cells in the muscle bleed as well. Treatment options of Adenomyosis
Non-surgical Treatment- Uterine artery embolization for Adenomyosis (Minimally Invasive treatment): It is a non-surgical interventional radiological procedure, which means it requires only a tiny nick in the skin, not a surgical incision. It is performed under sedation or mild local anesthesia – feeling no pain and usually requires a hospital stay of one night. Many women resume light activities in a few days and the majority of women are able to return to normal activities within a week.
